Leander Kaiser

Leander Kaiser, born in Innsbruck, showed early artistic talent and had his first exhibition in 1964. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts but dropped out to focus on figurative painting, inspired by de Chirico and the early Renaissance. From 1967, he studied sociology and philosophy and co-founded the "Gruppe Hundsblume," which distanced itself from the 68er movement.

After a period of political engagement in the Maoist movement, he resumed his artistic work in 1981 and became a freelance artist in 1984. He exhibited in renowned galleries and had a solo show at the Belvedere in 1986. Since 1976, he has been living with the painter Hildegard Stöger.
