Mauro Maugliani

Mauro Maugliani, born in 1967 in Tivoli, Italy, completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1991. His artistic language is inspired by the diversity and complexity of human relationships. In his works, he utilizes the art of portraiture and anatomy to depict the loss of individuality in daily existence. The skin becomes the newspaper, telling much about its (anti-)heroes.

Since the year 2000, Maugliani has been active in the contemporary art scene. Among his personal exhibition projects are "Face Off" at the Romberg Gallery in Latina in 2011 and "Reale per Eccellenza" at the Spazio Gallery Officina in 2009.

Notable collective projects include his participation in the "Atollo" project at the Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive Museum in Spoleto, curated by GL Marziani, as well as "Trialogo", sponsored by the Operngalerie in Rome and curated by E. Sassi. In 2014, Maugliani's work "Eclissi" was acquired by the Michetti Foundation for its eponymous museum on the occasion of the LXV Prize.
