Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec
Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec (1864 – 1901) was a French painter and graphic artist of post-impressionism in the late 19th century. He is well-known for his subject matter that depicts the 19th century Parisian nightlife scenery, including crowd scenes at the moulin rouge, portraits and intimate studies. Besides being influenced by painters like Manet and Degas, he was also inspired by classical Japanese woodprints. He became famous in particular for the posters he made for the Parisian variety Moulin Rouge on Montmartre. Toulouse-Lautrec is among the best-known painters of the Post-Impressionist period, with Cézanne, Van Gogh and Gauguin.
