Martha Jungwirth
The Austrian artist, Martha Jungwirth, born in Vienna in 1940, has significantly shaped the art scene with her versatile artistic practice and innovative approach.
Having studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1957 to 1961, Jungwirth was influenced by renowned artists such as Albert Paris Gütersloh and Wolfgang Hollegha. Her abstract works, spanning painting, drawing, and collage, are characterized by expressive use of color and dynamic forms.
Associated with the Viennese Actionism movement in the 1960s, Jungwirth experimented with bodily expression in her art. Her works have been showcased in numerous national and international exhibitions and can be found today in prestigious collections.
