Wolfgang Paalen
Wolfgang Paalen (1905 Vienna, Austria - 1959 Taxco, Mexico) was a German-Austrian-Mexican painter, sculptor and art philosopher. He studied for a short time with Fernand Léger and 1933 became a member of the group Abstraction-Création. Together with Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray and Salvador Dalí, Wolfgang Paalen was among those responsible for the design of the 1938 International Exhibition of Surrealism at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Paris.
